Denise graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a secondary teaching certification, and a BA in Literary Studies and History. Her background in education and healthcare lead her to the world of esthetics. Denise believes that healthy skin starts with a discussion of the client's lifestyle in addition to the correct analysis of each client's skin. A thorough understanding of products, ingredients and treatments is vital to get results. New clients answer questions about lifestyle, diet, stress, current home care as well as medications and allergies, so that an integrated plan can be formulated. Communication is an important part of the appointment.
"In addition to the professional treatments and machines available, as an esthetician, it is my job to understand products and ingredients, both otc and prescription, the risks and benefits, as well as how they address the needs of the client. Not only are ingredients important, but also the method in which they are delivered to the skin. I educate clients about their skin and the products they need. When shopping for skin care items, it's really all about the ingredients. A brand can be important after you get to know it, and you trust the source. This can only be achieved with knowledge of ingredients as well as the quality and efficacy. There is a lot to know, so it’s essential to find a professional you trust to help you find what is right for you.
"My mission as a skin care professional is to create a plan for each client that is a ritual, rather than a regimen. It needs to be something they see the value in doing. A ritual is something that you want to do, because you feel it's important. A regimen is something your have to do, it's a chore. How you feel about what you're doing is so important because it determines whether or not you will follow through. Regardless of the skin care issue you are facing, you can have beautiful skin, if you will follow through. The women, and men, who make their skin a priority have beautiful, healthy-looking skin. Sun protection, effective products and regular facials are the key to looking and feeling your best.
Jessica Evans is the perfect combination of skin care science and art. She comes to DBSC with years of experience as a medical aesthetician and is an expert at brow design - tweezing, tinting and trimming the perfect brow for each client's face. Her love of brow shaping is what lead her to microblading, a new technique that enhances thin and overly tweezed brows, to frame the face and make the eyes stand out. "Of all the anti-aging treatments I perform, nothing takes years off a face like a well-shaped, full brow. It's amazing what eyebrows can do for your look!"
Jessica believes that the makeup you put on every morning is just as important as the skin care products you use. Only the cleanest makeup will do. Jessica communicates the importance of well-chosen products to her clients because using the wrong products for you skin can be as bad as using none at all. "Good daily practices are just as important as what we do in the office. Monthly facials and resurfacing treatments go hand in hand with a client's home care program. In the war against aging, slow and steady wins the race. Consistency at home and in the office is much better than one harsh treatment. Just like the saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure - that's especially true in skin care.
Jessica is diligent about her own skin care habits and encourages her two young sons to take care of their skin, by washing and wearing sun protection daily. "It's just as important as brushing your teeth!"
